AOL has revealed that Apple’s iPod was the most searched-for term on its AOL Search and AOL Video Search tool during 2006. The other terms rounding out the top ten video search entries included rapper 50 Cent, BMW, pop star Jessica Simpson, her sister Ashlee Simpson, socialite Paris Hilton and others.

Love Labs, which makes the iBuzz vibrator, claims on its Web site that law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse sent it a letter on Apple’s behalf, objecting not to the use of the iPod to power a sex toy but instead to rather risqué iBuzz ads that resemble Apple’s iPod silhouette ads.

New spoof ad makes fun of iPod

Microsoft has produced an internal video spoof of Apple’s ‘Get a Mac’ ad campaign, according to one report. The ad, which was originally uploaded by ZuneBoards but was allegedly created by the Redmond-based software giant, praises Zune over Apple’s iPod for its wireless song transfer capability and the iPod’s perceived delicate nature.

Cops arrest students for ransoming stolen iPod

As the undercover officer approached the intersection, two boys approached the car.
The officer, posing as the student, refused to surrender the money without first seeing the iPod. The suspects would not show her the music player.
At this point, police moved in and made the arrests.

iPod Halloween costume

Unimpressed with the idea of just “walking around in a box,” last Halloween Jared Winick, left, went as a fully-functional iPod using a tablet PC, a rewired USB mouse, and a bit of Java code to play and display MP3s. Some battery-powered speakers provided the sound. He even won a costume contest and seemed to be having a great time.
