Steve Jobs on MobileMe: the full e-mail
Ever since our report last night on an internal e-mail sent by Steve Jobs about the botched launch of MobileMe, we have received an outpouring of requests for the full text of the e-mail. Although we originally weren’t comfortable publishing the entire thing, it is now slowly becoming available in its full form across the Internet. Because of this,

Firmware 2.01 could render 3G iPhone un-unlockable
As some of you already know, updating your iPhone to firmware 2.01 means that you’ve lost access to all your jailbroken apps. That’s pretty much expected and should be rectified by the DevTeam soon enough. What’s notable from an unlocking perspective, however, is that Apple’s 2.01 release also updates the iPhone 3G baseband. This puts iPhone 3G own

Steve Jobs”Mistake to launch MobileMe same time as iPhone3G”
Not that anyone could really dance around the facts of the matter at this point, but in an email to Apple employees sent today, apparently Steve said, “It was a mistake to launch MobileMe at the same time as iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 software and the App Store. We all had more than enough to do, and MobileMe could have been delayed without consequence.

Possible Pictures of New Macbook Leaked
Could these be images of the upcoming MacBook? Possibly, if you believe information leaked from a Taiwanese website. The images are confusing and have a photoshopped feel to them so, as always, take rumors with a grain of salt.

App Store bringing in strong revenue for some iPhone devs
Block is the author of the popular crossword puzzle application 2 Across, which sells for $5.99 on the App Store. Based on her iTunes Connect screenshots, Block has been earning almost $2,000 per day on the application, quite a bit more than she was expecting to make. Overall, these results are pretty encouraging for developers.

Apple iPod and iPhone News for August-04-08

Can The iPhone Rule Gaming?
It’s already a groundbreaking phone and digital music player, and now Apple’s iPhone is emerging as a popular gaming device as well. Of the 1,300 add-on programs currently available for it, about a quarter are games — as are seven of the 10 most popular selections in the Apple App Store, which opened on July 11. That kind of demand, along with…

MS 10K warns of iPhone
A Microsoft filing with the US government reveals a newfound worry that the Windows developer’s traditional stance of selling software alone won’t work against an increasingly profitable Apple — a concern that may magnify as iPhone 3G pushes Apple’s cellular market share past one percent worldwide.

What if Apple stopped issuing DRM keys?
It happened to Microsoft and Yahoo. Could it happen to Apple? The limitations of antipiracy software were dramatically illustrated last week when Yahoo Music announced the company would stop issuing authorization keys for the software that prevents its songs from being copied.

Apple is bound to its exclusivity deal with AT&T until at least 2010, sources have revealed. The US cell carrier agreed to the large-scale subsidies on the iPhone 3G’s pricing in exchange for a one-year extension on sole rights for the device line in the US past a 2009 expiry date. Forget the iPhone–The iPod Touch is Good Enough
I’m amazed at how little love the iPod touch gets. It’s a slimmer iPhone with almost all its features, it requires no contract, and when you can’t get a Wi-Fi signal, your plain, humble cellphone can step up to take its place. Here’s why anyone considering the iPhone should opt for its oft-ignored sibling—the iPod touch—instead
