Potential iPhone developers should go and grab the latest release of the SDK, beta 2, and revel in the new Interface Builder. Make your own fancy UIs for your iPhone game, or maybe just make an improved iFartz. We’re cool with either.

PWN 2 OWN over: MacBook Air gets seized in 2 minutes flat
“And just think — last year you were singing Dino Dai Zovi’s praises for taking control of a MacBook Pro in nine whole hours. This year, the PWN 2 OWN hacking competition at CanSecWest was over nearly as quickly as it started, as famed iPhone hacker Charlie Miller showed the MacBook Air on display who its father really was.

Apple Forbids Windows Users from Installing Safari
As spotted by our Italian friends at setteB.IT, Apple’s Safari license says that users are permitted to install the browser on no more than “a single Apple-labeled computer at a time.” This means that if you install Safari for Windows on a Windows PC, you’re violating the license.

Alt Text: Perils of Joining the iPod Nation
‘I feel a little odd about buying anything labeled classic, though. In marketing, classic is a way of making timidity and obstinacy sound cutting-edge. You’re on the avant-garde forefront of resisting change! You hated anything new before hating anything new was trendy!’

Steve Jobs’ Music Poster Boy Reports iTunes Probs
John Mayer contacted Apple about a problem with iTunes using the bug reporting tool which appears after a crash. Having sent my own share of bug reports, from neutral to humorous to sarcastic to plain mad-I’m-going-to-kill-you-all-with-a-spoon, I find his diatribe rather charming and candid:

MacBook Air Prompts New TSA Screening Procedures (Really!)
You might recall a couple of weeks ago, a dude got hassled by airport security because they couldn’t make sense of his MacBook Air. Turns out, it actually does look “very different” than 99 percent of the notebooks they’re used to seeing under the scanner, in a way that would “pique some interest” of security personnel.

Kevin Rose Eats Funny Red Pills Again, Predicts iPhone 3G
After being absolutely wrong wrong wrong (WRONG) about the first iPhone, Digg’s Kevin Rose has now settled down for the obvious: he says that the 3G version of the JesusPhone will have a camera on the front for video-conferencing with other 3G iPhone and Macintosh iChat users. Most probably, he is right about this, but not about the rest of his pre

CNET’s blurb about Vista being one of tech’s “biggest blunders” is actually from an op-ed that Microsoft should dump the OS entirely, while the PC Mag snippet is the title of a column from January that proffers ways for Microsoft to start-over.

Apple’s fixes show it is a good open-source citizen
Over half the software security fixes this month are actually in or part of open source software (OSS) packages… Whether or not it’s just a necessary thing to do in order to keep OS X secure, there are some significant benefits to Apple’s use of open source and Mac OS X being built on BSD.
