Why does Apple get a free ride?
I really don’t want to get into the pissing match that seems to occur whenever someone fails to bow down and worship Steve Jobs’ every move, but I can’t help myself. Why aren’t we seeing more outrage – okay, even a little bit of outrage – about Apple twisting the arm of an ISP because he was uploading the code embedded in his iPod Touch’s memory?

iPhone update re-locking handsets, disabling 3rd-party apps?
So as the first iPhone owners update their phones to firmware 1.1.1, we’re getting reports in that not only do third-party applications no longer work, but a post-update reactivation requires a genuine AT&T SIM. In other words, it looks like Apple may have just disabled thousands of unlocked phones around the world.

Apple developing OS X minitablet
AppleInsider is reporting that Apple has a project underway to develop a minitablet computer based on the OS X operating system it has developed for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. The site is calling it “the return of the Newton,” referring to the much-maligned but cult-favorite PDA that Apple sold in the mid-1990s.
