TivoTool updated for the iPod video

Friday, November 4th, 2005

What is TivoTool? From the TivoTool wiki: TivoTool allows you to download, stream, or burn videos from your Series 1 or 2 Tivo or DTivo.

Yesterday, TivoTool 0.5.0 was released, which adds compatibility with the iPod video.

Says the TivoTool website:

Many people were wondering about the new iPod: great but where is the video content? Desperate Housewives and Lost are good shows, but let’s face it we need more content to make the new iPod a success. The Tivo is an obvious choice for hours and hours of content that we already own. It is waiting night and day to get what we want, or even what it thinks we might want. This is exactly the kind of device the video iPod needs access to.

Tell Apple you want gapless playback

Thursday, November 3rd, 2005

Jason O’Grady, of The Apple Core blog, writes that the iPod is missing one important feature: gapless playback.

As he notes, without gapless playback, CDs that are created so that they sound like one long track but are in fact split up into many individual tracks sound like crap due to the pause between tracks.

Does the lack of gapless playback bother you? Then sign the online petition.
